Pompano Beach-based Cannatelli Builders Says $3.5 Million Project will be Ready for Feb. 11, 2013 Deadline

Pompano Beach, FL, Dec. 4, 2012 – Lake Worth’s Urban Arts Lofts Townhome Project is slated for on time completion according to federal grant consortium partner and lead contractor Cannatelli Builders www.cannatellibuidlers.com The certified general contractor and the official contractor for the Florida Panthers and BB & T Center, broke ground on the $3.5 million project in April and under terms of the federal grant, the Arts Lofts must be completed by Feb. 11, 2013.

The Urban Arts Lofts project will cost up to $3.5 million and is being paid for with part of a $23.2 million federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant that the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency and its partners are using to buy, renovate and rebuild foreclosed homes.

“Obviously we were delighted to participate in such a meaningful project that takes blighted areas and turns them into productive living and work spaces,” said Ed Cannatelli, vice president of the Pompano Beach-based firm. “Creating an artist’s community as a redevelopment strategy is an innovative and bold move by the city. I’m confident it will be replicated in other parts of the region as well.”

Located on two sites at Lucerne Avenue and F Street, the project includes two “post modern” style buildings while a third is considered modern, with a flat roof and a modular look. A fourth will be contemporary Florida in style, with clapboard sides, trellises over the balconies and windows accented with shutters.

Actual sales prices will not be determined until after the townhomes are completed and appraised but they are expected to sell for in the range of $100,000 to $120,000.

“We have been fortunate that everything has gone according to schedule and the weather has cooperated” added Cannatelli. “This is going to be a real showcase which residents of the city will look to with a great deal of pride.”
